Lawrence’s dancing career started at the age of 5 having joined weekly Ballroom & Latin classes at Dance Crazy. Throughout his junior and Youth years he was regularly a UK national finalist and most notably became UK champion in 2008. This allowed Lawrence to represent England at the Junior world championships where he was made British team captain for their team match event. In later years his best achievement came at the Italian and Paris open where he made the world amateur Latin final. Following a successful competitive career, Lawrence took his teaching qualifications and passed his associate examination attaining 99% in both the practical and theoretical Sections. 

 

He broadened his horizons by switching forms and attained a first-class degree in contemporary dance at AUB university. This paved the way for a professional development apprenticeship with the Jasmin Vardimon company where he worked and performed in her company's U.K tour. Of "Tomorrow”.

 

During the time studying at university Lawrence worked in the art and film sector. He spent the summer of 2016 on set, working and dancing in the ITV production "The Halcyon" which premiered in January 2017. As well as this he also danced/performed in the cinematic production of "far from the madding crowd" which premiered in cinemas in April 2015.

 

Most recently Lawrence worked for choreographer Paul Harris as a lead dancer in the Netflix original ‘Thanks for the Memories’. 

 

Lawrence works on specialised projects that include performing and teaching with step change studios. Their company specialises in Ballroom and Latin with disabled artists and community. They headlined a show at Sadler Wells London where Lawrence performed three pieces with various disabled dancers and taught a workshop outside the national theatre on the Thames. (2018 - present).

 

Day to day, Lawrence is a resident Ballroom & Latin teacher at Dance Crazy preparing pupils for exams, shows, medallist and Pro-Am competitions. He also teaches classes throughout Bournemouth, Hampshire and at the Euro Tanze Center in Germany.
